There are many number of young and new talents visibily present as the new promises of Malayalam cinema. Among these emerging actors, the best three , if you ask me are, Mathew Thomas through the movie Kumbalangi Nights, Nazlen, who shone in Thanneermathan Dinangal and Premalu, and Sandeep, who entered the mainstream with the movie Padakalam.
All three have proven their talent as characters in their own strong areas. We can see through the films in which these three have acted that they can do serious characters, humor, emotional scenes and also a bit of action too..!
From Frankie in Kumbalangi Nights, Jaison in Thanneermathan Dinangal, Benjamin Lewis’s youth in Anchaam Pathira, Sidhu in Leo with Tamil super star Thalapathy Vijay, Kunjava in Neymar and guest role as Thomas in Premalu, Mathew Thomas has a full presence in Mollywood and Kollywood…. ! From 2019 to 2025, Mathew has acted in about nineteen films in total
Nazlen, who started his acting career in combination films with Mathew Thomas and finally entered the 100 crore club through the character Sachin in Premalu,… Nazlen, who entered the film industry at the same time as Mathew, has also made his presence felt in about nineteen films… Melvin in Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal, Rasool in Kuruthi, Charles Oliver Twist in Home, Sangeet in Super Saranya, Manoj Sundaran in Jo and Jo, Tippu in Valatti, Shinto Chackola in Neymar, Vishnu in I Am Kadalan and Jojo, the boxer in his latest outing Alappuzha Gymkhana, are just a few films that highlight Nazlen’s acting prowess.
Sandeep has appeared in relatively fewer films compared to Mathew and Nazlen. However, it must be said that Sandeep has been able to make his presence felt in all the five films he has acted in. The character of Putran in Pathinettam Padi, Karthik in Antakshari, Abhijit Chandran in Falimi, Shifas Ahmed (Valuthu) in Alappuzha Gymkhana
and Jithin in the recently released film Padakalam were all showing the actor in Sandeep to the audience.
Recently, a very sad fan fight has been seen on social media … Mostly, such cheap fights are seen taking with the names of Nazlen and Sandeep. I don’t understand why a deliberate degradation is seen against Nazlen on social media … When more films are successful, when an actor rises from being an actor to a star, it is a natural phenomenon in the film industry to increase their remuneration.
Not only that, being selective for a good script, or sometimes saying no due to busy schedules, is common among film stars, but the idea that using such reasons to scrutinize an actor’s character and call him arrogant or ungrateful is not appropriate for a cultured generation.
In the past, if a Mammootty film was a hit, if we became a fan of him through that film, no one would call us jihadists… Similarly, if we talked about Lalettan’s film with any enthusiasm… no one would call us Hindutva or Sanghi even if we imitated Lalettan’s behavior and style, or even became a fan of Lalettan.
Times are changing..and along with it, our taste for films..the color and caste of the actor, the religion behind the names, etc., are distorting even the taste for films.
We need….Mammookka, Lalettan, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, Dileep, Prithviraj, Indrajith, Dulquer, Asif Ali, Fahad, Nivin Pauly, Tovino Thomas, Vinayakan, Manikandanachari, Basil, Mathew Thomas, Nazlen and Sandeep… We need to see all of them in the silver screen… We need them to make our leisure time happier, to see stories on social justice, to touch our soul through heart warming stories , to laugh with our loved ones, to think and to be amazed…
Let us lovingly force all cinema lovers to a freedom to at least keep the elements of color, caste and religion away from the world of art, to bring the art of cinema to a common style of enjoyment, to avoid hate campaigns and degradations and to say that what is good is good…!
